'Tidal Wave' launched the new century with an amazing breeding breakthrough: all-new "Hedgiflora™" petunias. The season-long stunners keep their super-full, shrublike shape all Summer. Oceans of vibrant blooms absolutely cover the plants. Holds up to heat. Bounces back from rain super-fast. Performance so spectacular that 'Tidal Wave Cherry' brought home the University of Georgia Gold Medal from its debut season, 'Tidal Wave Hot Pink' a close second. Count on Ball for sure-sellers like this, year after profitable year!

P. x hybrida
Petunias are sold by seed count.

Crop Time: Packs, 14 to 16 weeks, except where noted
Note: With double petunias, first blooms often appear as singles due to the stress of growing. Subsequent blooms will be double.

Hedgiflora Petunia

Tidal Wave™ Series

'Tidal Wave' has a growth habit based on how closely the plants are spaced in the garden - the closer the spacing, the taller the plant. When spaced a minimum of 12 in. (30 cm) apart, it forms a dense, mounded hedge from 16 to 22 in. (41 to 56 cm) tall. Grown in a restricted space with support, it will grow an extra 2 to 3 ft. (61 to 91 cm) upward, like a vine. When given plenty of space, this petunia makes a floriferous groundcover, spreading 2 1/2 to 3 ft. (76 to 91 cm) per plant. Excellent Botrytis resistance and quick recovery from rain.

Spreading Petunia

Wave™ Series

A spectacularly different, spreading habit makes the 'Wave' series an exciting choice for baskets, color bowls and beds where brilliant ground-covers are desired. These low-growing annuals reach a height of only 6 in. (15 cm), but spread as much as 3 to 4 ft. (0.9 to 1.2 m). Flowers form along the entire length of each branch. Unlike standard petunias, the 2 to 3-in. (5 to 7-cm) flowers continue to bloom freely all season without being trimmed back. 'Wave' is more Botrytis-tolerant than most petunias, and stands up well to the heat and humidity of Summer in the North or South. Asked for by name! 8 to 13 weeks.
