'Tidal Wave' has a growth habit based on how closely the plants are spaced in the garden - the closer the spacing, the taller the plant. When spaced a minimum of 12 in. (30 cm) apart, it forms a dense, mounded hedge from 16 to 22 in. (41 to 56 cm) tall. Grown in a restricted space with support, it will grow an extra 2 to 3 ft. (61 to 91 cm) upward, like a vine. When given plenty of space, this petunia makes a floriferous groundcover, spreading 2 1/2 to 3 ft. (76 to 91 cm) per plant. Excellent Botrytis resistance and quick recovery from rain.
